Dear Franz acts as Duo Ebano’s personal dialogue with Franz Schubert, reimagining his music through an expanded and contemporary sound world. Moving fluidly between faithful transcriptions and inventive reworkings, the album explores Schubert’s lieder and late piano works through clarinet, duduk, keyboards, and electronics. Instrumental colour and sound design shape the album’s distinctive voice.

Rather than reconstructing the past, Dear Franz approaches Schubert as a living voice: fragile, restless, and open to transformation. The result is a listening experience in which intimacy and experimentation coexist, allowing familiar music to be heard from a new, resonant perspective.
