With the album Reconciliation, the piano duo Caspar Vos & Frank Peters brings together three Russian masters who were once diametrically opposed: Rachmaninov, Medtner and Prokofiev. While Rachmaninov and Medtner clung to the Romantic tradition, Prokofiev sought confrontation with modernity. With Reconciliation, their worlds meet again – stripped of the spirit of the times and hostility, but in a pure musical dialogue.

On the album, Prokofiev’s Cinderella Suite embraces Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances and Medtner’s Russian Round Dance & Knight Errant. In this way, three voices from the Russian soul are posthumously reconciled with each other.

Reconciliation celebrates the richness of Russian culture: music that connects across borders and generations.
