Vincent van Amsterdam

Red, Dark and Blue

Red, Dark and Blue is the new solo CD of accordion player Vincent van Amsterdam. It will probably reorganise everything you’ve ever thought about and heard on a classical accordion.

In an articulated but very passionate way Vincents plays both disturbing and caring, hallucinating and romantic, melodious and mechanical.

From Bachs utterly beautiful 5th French Suite and the resonating warm Prélude, Fugue et Variation from César Franck (where Vincent demonstrates his unparalleled sense for color and long musical lines) through the incidentally dense, sometimes airy, occasionally distant but foremost neo-romantic Kusjakov and Solotarjov to 12 minutes of Maxim Shalygins hypnotising and electric Trembling Music and Sofia Gubaidulinas spooky, daring and exciting new sounds in the Sonata ‘Et Expecto’.

We’re very proud to bring you this elaborate new release from a young musician that deserves the brightest spotlights.
