Short description album:
Rhapsodos presents Dutch harpist Joost Willemze as a modern storyteller and a wide-ranging performer. It brings together music that has shaped him and works written for him, showing the harp in many roles: expressive and lyrical, rhythmically driven and percussive, intimate and theatrical, acoustic and electronic. Mythology fuels the drama at the heart of the album, as emotions are explored in their rawest forms. Other works move through folk tradition and vividly drawn scenes, and open into sound worlds inspired by space and distance, taking the listener from the underworld to the cosmos. Rhapsodos unfolds as a journey in sound and as a portrait of the artist.
